Terms of Service
01What devSprint is
devSprint runs timed code sprints: you get a theme, two hours, and a deadline. Submissions are judged against a public rubric and the top three win certificates. By using devsprint.app you agree to these terms.
02Accounts
Sign in with email, Google, or GitHub. Entering a sprint requires linking two accounts: Discord — that's where the secret word drops and certificates arrive — and GitHub, because the repository you submit must belong to your paired GitHub account (or list it as a contributor). Your linked Discord account must be at least 30 days old. You are responsible for activity on your account. One account per person — alternate accounts used to enter the same sprint twice will be banned.
03Sprint rules and fair play
All code must be written within the sprint window. Declared templates and boilerplate are allowed; undeclared ones are grounds for disqualification. Building with assistants and code-generation tools is allowed and expected — automated submission farming is not. The secret word must be spoken in your demo video.
We verify repos, timestamps, and demo videos. Submissions that fail verification are disqualified, and repeat attempts to game verification result in a permanent ban.
04Your work stays yours
You keep full ownership of everything you build in a sprint. By submitting, you grant devSprint a non-exclusive license to display your project name, description, screenshots, video, and scores on sprint pages, your public profile, and announcements. You can request removal of a submission at any time via the report form.
05Certificates
Certificates state facts: sprint number, theme, project, placement, score, and date. Each has a public verification URL. Forging, altering, or misrepresenting a certificate is prohibited and voids all your certificates.
06Community hosting and payments
Hosting a community sprint requires an approved application and payment of the posted fee. Fees are charged only after approval. Hosts must provide accurate identity information and a real judging panel. Refunds are issued if we cancel a sprint; not if the host cancels within 24 hours of start. Payments are processed by Stripe.
07Prohibited conduct
No harassment, no hate speech, no NSFW content in submissions, no malware or credential harvesters, no impersonation, no vote manipulation on the feature board, no interfering with other builders' submissions. We remove content and ban accounts at our discretion to keep sprints fair.
08Termination
You can stop using devSprint anytime. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Bans are recorded with the reason and are appealable once via the report form.
09Disclaimers
devSprint is provided as-is. We aim for every sprint to run cleanly but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we may reschedule or cancel sprints when infrastructure fails. Judging outcomes are final except where a dispute review finds a verification error.
10Changes and contact
We'll announce material changes to these terms in Discord and by email before they take effect. Questions: hello@devsprint.app.
